| Crossed by many communal roads, the
territory is located in a natural and favourable position. It is also an important
connection area with centres such as Bologna and Venice.
Copparo is the "ideal town " in which to develop a business activity The area
offers large spaces as for investments in order to improve lifestyle and having complete
service facilities satisfying the population needs and requirements
The Copparo territory has an area of 157 sqkm with a population of
18.656 inhabitants. There are some schools, kindergartens, the "Cittadella dello
Sport" (sport facilities), small and medium firms, rich-in-tradition farms and
many complete and functional resources.
In this context Copparo is part of Objective 2 of the
European Union with a series of initiatives to create new enterprises.
The "Incubatore meccanico" initiative goes exactly in
this direction: it is a production structure established by Copparo's local government to
promote contractor actions among the local youngsters. Production, mainly focusing on
chain assembly for Berco's small diggers, takes place inside a 1000 sqm plant and
has been managed by the LMC co-operative since February 1996. Beyond this main activity,
there is also the one relating to machine tools.
The value of this plan has been recognized even by the Minis try of
Public Function, which gave a reward to the "Incubatore meccanico"
initiative during a national competition called "Cento progetti al servizio dei
cittadini" ("One hundred plans at citizens'disposal"). Always during
this initiative, the Informacittà office has been appreciated for
its dynamism and transparency in informing citizens.
As far as the health care system is concerned, an innovative plan
called "Medicina di Comunità" ("Copparo's
community Medicine") is active. The plan involves the co-operation of the Municipal
Government, the Municipalities of the former district, the physicians’ Association of
general medicine, S. Giuseppe's hospital and the health care Authority of Ferrara.
Its goal is the improvement of the Public Health Care System by locally distributed health
care interventions, by amending clinical diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. |
